Hi, guys! I’m Josh and I’m gonna
give you a great study tip today! You want to know how much English
you should be studying, how often and how much? Well, let me break it down for you.
I’m gonna break it down just like Blackjack, or 21. Do you know that game at the casino? If not, the goal is to get 21.
And you win! Simple. So what I want you to do is aim for 21 points
or more, because in this game, you can’t lose. You actually lose by getting less than 21.
Let me tell you the rules. If you study for one hour with a teacher,
an English speaking teacher and you’re engaging in the language,
you are trying to get better, you get 3 points for 1 hour. So 7 hours, that’s 21 points.
But try to get more! If you are studying by yourself,
or reading or watching something by yourself, and you’re really focused on trying to learn
new words, new vocabulary, new expressions or just understand what is going on but you’re
actually trying, then you’re gonna get 2 points. So 2 points, just by engaging
with the language, without a teacher. You get one point for just passively learning, reading
an English book for pleasure, one hour, that’s one point. Watching a movie for one hour, that’s one point.
So as you can see, you can have a combination. You might do 5 hours with a teacher,
and 10 hours of watching videos and you might engage with
some English speaking friends. You can quickly get over 21 points. So that’s the tip for you!
You’re aiming for 21 points or more. If you can’t get 21, if you get
10 this week, get 11 next week. So the study tip is very simple!

materials and you can still get 21 points pretty easily. Thanks for watching!
